The tumble weeds have taken over the Blog. I note that I am the only person who has posted here since before Christmas. This leads to a question -
What do we want to do with our lives!
We set up this group with a "we are all leaders" format but that might be leading us down the path of us all being busy doing other stuff instead of putting some energy into innovating.
What do we as self declared innovators want to do with our efforts? We have the mandate, we have some ideas, but do we have the energy to act?
Bill Baer is shortly going to set up a joint 24/7 and Culture of Innovation meeting to brainstorm some ideas including looking at ways to reduce costs. Perhaps we use this time to discuss how we want to move forward?

Flexible Workweek Innovations Webinar - Jan 21

The Alliance of Innovation group is offering a webinar (you sit in front of your computer and watch/listen to a presentation) on Flexible work weeks.
It is being held from 10 until 11:30AM on Wednesday January 21st. Our City is a member of the Alliance and therefore we can listen in for free.
I have registered and will log in to listen to this session - let me know if anyone else wants to listen in - we could book a meeting room and watch it together.
Below is the summary they sent out to describe what will be shared;
Innovation in scheduling within the workplace is a next practice that local government has begun to explore and is having success with. During this 90 minute presentation you will hear from Rick Albiero, The Telecommuting Advantage Group. Mr. Albiero will provide you with an overview of alternative work options, highlight current trends, discuss outcomes and measures, share critical elements, and show you next steps when exploring alternative work options.
Also, you will hear from two leading local government organizations who have successfully implemented flexible workweek innovations. Diane O’Grady, Loudoun County, Virginia, will showcase Loudoun County’s award winning Telework Program. You will hear how Loudoun County’s program increased productivity, decreased traffic congestion and pollution, and leveraged their ability to retain workers. In addition, Gainesville, Florida recently implemented a four day work week. Becky Rountree, with the City of Gainesville, will discuss this transition, the challenges faced, as well as Gainesville’s success to date.
